Downtown Streetscape Project

The Downtown Streetscape Project (State Street from Boltwood to Broadway) will recommence construction on March 11, 2024. The project will restart on the north side of State Street between Church and Broadway and will move to the south side of State Street between Church and Broadway. All project activities will be complete no later than June 28, 2024. The General Contractor is Katerberg VerHage of Grand Rapids, Michigan. A foreman will be in contact with all business owners on a regular basis when construction is occurring in front of their business.
Construction Schedule:
- Construction will recommence on March 11, 2024 and be complete on June 28, 2024.
- The north side of State Street from Church Street to Broadway will be impacted first with the project moving to the south side of State Street between Church Street and Broadway.
- The approximate timing of each block is on the schedule which can be accessed by clicking here.
- Construction will take place between 7 am and dusk most weekdays and occasionally on Saturdays. If necessary to provide access to businesses, concrete may be poured prior to 7 am.
- During construction, access from the roadway to businesses will be limited. Sidewalk access may only be from the east or west intersection.
Parking
- Parking on the side of the street subject to construction activities will be closed.
- Parking is available in several municipal parking lots. A Downtown Parking Map can be accessed by clicking here.
- State Street parking will be available for areas not subject to construction activities.
