Utilities Superintendent
The City of Hastings is accepting applications to fill the Utilities Superintendent position. The Utilities Superintendent supervises, directs, and actively participates in the operation and maintenance of the drinking water and wastewater treatment systems to ensure full and continuous compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory criteria.
Requirements for the position include an Associate’s Degree with major coursework in biology, environmental science, or other applied sciences, and five years of progressively more responsible experience in water plant and wastewater plant operations and supervision, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A D-2 and S-2 water certification or a Class B wastewater certification within three years of hire is also required. Michigan Commercial Drivers License B with air brakes endorsement required. This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $78,348 – $97,936. Provided benefits include employer-paid premium health and dental insurance, life insurance, and MERS hybrid plan retirement.
